Nohar Zask-Agadi received his architectural training at Pratt Institute and Yale School of Architecture, where he graduated with honors and was awarded the Independent Design Research Award. He furthered his studies at Die Angewandte Institute of Architecture in Vienna under Cristina Díaz Moreno and Efrén García Grinda. Nohar has worked for Norman Foster + Partners, Handel Architects, and Roger Ferris + Partners, contributing to large-scale residential and mixed-use projects for developers including Related Companies. As a Visiting Instructor at Kent State University's College of Architecture and Environmental Design, he taught first-year design studio and computer applications. Nohar founded Nohar's Ark, a New York-based architecture and design practice, where he brings a global perspective shaped by communicentric design mediums and a commitment to carrying projects from design through construction.
Nohar's Ark is built on the belief that architecture is not neutral - that the spaces we inhabit shape how long and how well we live. Every project begins with a single question: what does this place already know? From Korean Buddhist temples to Blue Zone communities, the studio's research has consistently found that the most enduring built environments are those that grow from deep site-specific inquiry, not imported aesthetics. Nohar's Ark designs spaces that belong somewhere - and that make the people inside them feel the same.
